The Secret Recipe Brand
Before there were gourmet bakeries and covid home bakers, there was Secret Recipe. They offer a variety of consistent quality cakes for special occasions that not only look good but taste great.
More than a decade ago when I was still working in the architecture firm, I remember having monthly Secret Recipe cakes for monthly birthday celebrations. Sometimes, we'd order slices of various flavours to make a whole cake when there's a party and wanted to match everyone's tastes.
The Mural Design
The brief was to have a woman in a Kadazan costume and a Secret Recipe Cake in the design. However, there was a challenge as the wall was constructed with a protruding half - which was meant to be the Kota Kinabalu mountain.
We stretched colours behind the main elements and added Sabah patterns and plants to connect the 3 subjects together and this was the digital result:
After about 3 days of painting, here's the finished mural of the Kadazan Woman, Cake and Mountain:
